“...spirited and polished playing.” - The New York Times. A native of Tainan, Taiwan, Ms. Lo grew up studying both the violin and piano. At the age of 11, Ms. Lo won her first competition in Tainan City. Since then, her studies have brought her to Manhattan School of Music Prep Division and the famed Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts. She made her concerto debut at the age of 14 with the MSM Prep. Later, in her senior year of high school, Ms. Lo performed solos with three orchestras, including her Lincoln Center debut with the InterSchool Orchestra of New York under director Jonathan Strasser.
Ms. Lo’s love for chamber and orchestral playing has brought her to various festivals such as Bowdoin Music Festival, Aspen Music Festival, Round Top Music Festival, Spoletto Music Festival USA, and the Nationaal Jeugd Orkest. She was privileged to have to worked with conductors Robert Spano, Yuri Temirkanov, David Robertson, James Colon, James DePreist, JoAnn Falletta, Philippe Herreweghe, Anton Coppola, Otto-Werner Mueller, Joseph Silverstein, and David Zinman. During her studies, Ms. Lo has attended masterclass and coachings with top musicians such as Itzakh Perlamn, Zakhar Bron, Maxim Vengerov, Daniel Phillips, Andre Emelianoff, Laurie Smukler, Julia Lichten, Timothy Eddie, Hiroko Yajima, J.Y. Song, and
the Shanghai String Quartet.
Ms. Lo has performed in prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall, David Gaffen Hall, Alice Tully Hall, The Royal Concertgebouw, Konzerthaus Berlin, TivoliVredenburg, Disney Hall, Frederick P. Rose Hall, City Center, DiMenna Center, Town Hall, Symphony Space, Auditorio Nacional, Sala Nezahualcoyotl, Teatro Degollado, Jodan
Hall, Troy Savings Bank Music Hall.
An active performer, Ms. Lo frequently performs with the Grammy winning Albany Symphony, The Bronx Opera, Verismo Opera, Dell’Arte Opera Ensemble, and many other groups. She has also recently joined Concert in Motion, an organization that brings music to residents in retirement homes. Ms. Lo also teaches and is proud to pass
on her knowledge to the next generation.
Ms. Lo holds a bachelor of music degree from SUNY Purchase under Daniel Phillips,
and a Master in Music from Mannes College under Todd Phillips.
